Well, to all the Trekkie's out there... Only five more days to go!!!!!!
As the theatre release date quickly approaches, the Star Trek premiers have already begun! Let's face it, quite the variety of celebrities are showing up... you've got your big stars, the no names, the wanna-be's, the reality stars... all joining together at Growman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood CA for the almighty premiere of Star Trek. Apparenlty it's a devotion that runs deep and only one a true Trekkie could understand!
I can really only appreciate it... I can't even begin to explain the variety of celebrities to come to the premiere, i.e. Kristin Cavallari, Seth Green, Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas, Hank Azaria & Kate Wright, not to mention the entire movie cast and several Heroes stars there to support fellow Hero Zachary Quinto. Anyway, on that note, I have taken the liberty to blurb about some of the stand-outs, the best and the worst of...I hope you enjoy!
I'm not sure what to say about either of them... I love them both, but I've seen them looking better! Zachary Quinto, who obviously plays Spock (eyebrows?) in the new "Star Trek" is joined here by Winona Ryder, who plays Amanda Grayson, aka Spock's mama.
Maybe this movie will be Winona's re-rise to fame and she will no longer be remembered for her 'Saks Free Clothing Buffet' days. I'm not so sure about her dress... although she pulls it off nicely, especially by accentuating her hair and keeping the entire look consistent... it's very Lydia Deets of her (Beetlejuice)?!
And Zachary Quinto... he looks a little red in the eye, don't you think? Anyway, here are the two of them posing together for a few pics. And because I am a bitch, I cannot stop myself from putting up this first picture...LOL! I was pretty hammered at a wedding once and this is what all the pictures of me and my boyfriend looked like (apparently telling me to maintain myself)! Hey! It happens to the best of us!
I can also be nice, so see below for the classy version. They would make a beautiful couple!
It's a tie... Between Zoe Seldana and Sophia Bush! They both look absolutley incredible!
Zoe Saldana, who plays Nyota Uhura in the new "Star Trek", struts her stuff in this sequined Pucci dress which looks unbelievable on her! Meanwhile, Sophia Bush, famed for her role as Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill, arrived wearing this sexy Herve Leger number... I'm sure Chad Micheal Murray kicks himself in the ass on a regular basis for losing her!
Why is Tori Spelling at the premiere of "Star Trek"? Could it be that deep, deep, deep down she is a Trekkie at heart? Could be... Or as my boyfriend seems to think... and I quote... Tori Spelling?! In the eyes of a Trekkie, she's the equivalent to Megan Fox! Hilarious!
And what's with all that make-up! is it just me or is there enough make-up there to paint a small village?!
There is certainly something hypnotizing about Zachary Quinto's eyebrows... their perfect... like a mirror image of each other (not that he's hard to look at)! Go figure, a guy who has the potential to have a Bert (Sesame Street) unibrow has better defined brows than I ever have!
Here's Zachary looking super chic while arriving at the Dave Letterman Show in NYC. No doubt there to promote the new Star Trek movie in which he plays Spock. Please, those brows alone got him the gig no questions necessary. I bet he's fantastic in it. He's fantastic in Heroes as super-crazy fucked-up Sylar. I must mention that I missed the season finale yesterday... the show is too good to watch one episode a week anyway... I just buy each season so I can drown myself in Heroes episodes one after another!
Star Trek is set to be released in theaters May 8, 2009. Until then, you'll just have to check out Spock below!
Well, the ShoWest awards ceremony took place at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas on April 2, 2009. For those wondering what exactly ShoWest is (I'm not going to lie, I had no idea either), it's the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners... Anyway, after a couple of days of convention and seminars, they have an awards ceremony where they recognize the future of the film industry?!?!
Among the winners, and deservedly so, was the beautiful Rachel McAdams... SHE IS the future of this industry. She has long proven what a wonderful actress she is with movies like 'The Notebook' and even 'Wedding Crashers', not to mention she is set to star in a slew of movies being released later this year.! Now Rachel McAdams getting Female Star of the Year, I can believe!
Perhaps, I'm just being bitchy but here are some of the other winners...If this is what the film stars are being recognized for, then I fear the future of the industry...Zac Efron won Breakthrough Performer of the Year, Sienna Miller won Supporting Actress of the Year and all the girls from 'Sorority Row' won for Female Stars of Tomorrow???
I'm pretty sure you see where I m going with this... What the fuck? Margo Harshman, Leah Pipes, Rumer Willis, Brianna Evigan, Jaime Chung and Audrina Partridge... the Female Stars of Tomorrow? Based on their performance in' Sosority Row'? A movie about a bunch of sorority girls who kill one of their 'sisters' in a prank gone wrong, try to cover it up and then end up being followed by a serial killer?!?! What? Seriously? I'm at a loss for words!
One more winner of the night was Chris Pine (again, I had no idea who he was either) who apparently does o.k. as Captain Kirk in the new 'Star Trek' movie. Now I couldn't put my finger on it right away but there was something familiar about that suit... Where did I see it before... It took a little bit but then the all too familiar image of the star of Pee Wee's Playhouse came crashing into my head! All that's missing is the red bow-tie (and of course the criminal charges, but that's besides the point)!
