Michael Jackson

The Music Lives On...

Bauer-Griffin

Am I crazy... the thought of MJ passing away is still completely foreign to me... still heartbreaking.

Well, I'm sure myself along with many of you out there watched Michael Jackson's memorial service today. I had it streaming in the background while at work but made sure to watch it on tv so to have not missed anything.

Without going into too much detail, what a beautiful service. Every speaker and performer...Stevie Wonder, Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, etc... every one was vital to the day and the stories shared helped portray who Michael Jackson truly was. It was the moment little Paris broke-down when it started to finally sink in... still so very sad.

RIP MJ

Is Michael Jackson's Death the Result of Overdose?

Bauer-Griffin

Word of the cause behind Michael Jackson's cardiac arrect is surfacing and it's now speculated that prescription drugs may be responsible. TMZ reports:

Law enforcement sources tell us a BMW belonging to the doctor was towed from Jackson's home last night. Cops are looking to interview the doc. A law enforcement source says the doctor gave Jackson an injection before he died. Jackson reportedly may have OD'd on Demerol. As we first reported, family members were concerned Jackson was taking too much morphine.

According to People, MJ's family attempted an intervention in Las Vegas back in 2006 when they were worried about his dependency on prescription drugs and alcohol. Janet was on the phone, whereas Randy, Jackie and Rebbie were there in person. Michael got pissed-off and said he wasn't on drugs.

At the time of the Vegas intervention, another source close to the family blamed a Jackson aide for supplying the superstar with drugs from prescriptions acquired from multiple doctors. "[The aide] has contacts wherever they are," said the source. In addition to consuming alcohol, Jackson takes "straight morphine, Demerol and opiates like Oxycontin. He also takes Valium and Xanax," said the insider.

After Michael Jackson's death Thursday, the family's lawyer, Brian Oxman, released this statement:

"If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson's life," Oxman told CNN.

Wow, I guess you really don't know what's going on behind closed doors. The fame and constant scrutiny must have been too much. And, who can really blame him!?

Yesterday afternoon, when the news of Michael Jackson's cardiac arrest broke, the LAPD closed down the N Carolwood Drive where Michael's home is located @ No.100, in Holmby Hills, Cali. The press was also on the scene reporting live.

My Brain Hurts...

I have just watched HOURS of Michael Jackson news and I still can't believe it. MJ was my introduction to music! At five years old, I somehow convinced my Polish mama to buy me the Thriller album (on cassette which is right now sitting next to me as I blog... unfortunately I wore the tape out but I still have the case). And at five years old I could sing every song word for word! Yup... that was me... Sesame Street and Michael Jackson. It didn't get much better than that!

This is SO devastating to the world... I still can't quite wrap my head around it... This is like the Elvis of my generation. I don't think there is one person in the world who doesn't know who Michael Jackson is... He will truly, truly, truly be missed but never forgotten...RIP.

Back To Normal?

Normal??? What exactly would be normal to a guy who lived in his own theme park, had a pet chimp and supposedly owned the remains of the elephant man... remember that one? Anyway, check out Michael Jackson bearing his face! No more mask? And this comes at a time when everyone is freakin' out about swine flu?! Anyway... MJ spent the morning with his kids visiting the doctor and then a toy store before going back to the Beverly Hills Hotel for a family reunion?

Apparently since moving to LA, Michael and the family are a little more acceptable of the shutterbugs... come-on... when was the last time you saw anything below MJ's eyes... I guess it's going to take a little more time for the kids... they still seem to be living a masquerade ball life!

Perhaps this change in character is in lieu of his upcoming tour??? I admit... I would totally go see MJ! I was totally a Thriller kid growing up! It would be like reliving my youth. I don't think I'm even old enough to say that!
